And finally, the fault allows us to feel pride and satisfaction when we do things exactly right. That is a strong reinforcement to behaviors that are more suited us. In summary, guilt, provided it is not unreasonable or excessive, it is advantageous and guidance. It helps us be more human. It helps us learn and have a life closer to virtue.
